The Latvia pavilion — The Technology of Happiness — is a new approach to creating and strengthening a country brand. Wally Olins, the founder of the agency, is author of the book “On Brand”, which was published in Latvia in 2005. In addition, the agency Wolff Olins is author of the fresh New York City brand and London city brand for 2012, which has won a great attention in the whole world.

Since the Latvia pavilion opening at the World EXPO, AERODIUM Ltd has received several proposals from different cities in China for cooperation in the vertical wind tunnel industry and exporting products made in Latvia to China. European countries are particularly popular in China, and the “European style” is favoured in various areas of life.

This is how we, the adults, see it. But how does our pavilion look through the eyes of a child? We have the opportunity to see it thanks to the gift we have received — it is a drawing of our pavilion in action. The best about it is the fact that children see everything as it is, without any judgments; therefore the value of this drawing is the clear vision of what takes place at the Latvia pavilion and how it happens. The author of the drawing is the nine year old artist Rūta.

People fly in the Latvia pavilion, because of the company AERODIUM. In the AERODIUM, Chinese, Latvians, Englishmen and people from other countries flew. They like it very much.

‘It is truly fascinating’, said the over-excited London representative.

The San Francisco representative remarked that flying in wind tunnel had been an unexpected opportunity and he was particularly excited about the acrobatic show.

The Scottish ‘Time Out’ journalist was all smiles and said that it had been a life-time opportunity. ‘Latvia is my favourite country!’ he told us. ‘Thank you, Latvia!’ said the ‘Time Out’ team after visiting our pavilion.

Since the EXPO opening, the public’s interest in Latvia pavilion is getting bigger and bigger. After the numerous visits of media representatives, that have promoted the Latvia pavilion’s popularity in China and the whole world, the Chinese and other EXPO visitors show great interest in Latvia pavilion; they are ready to queue for several hours just to see the Technology of Happiness in action and, if they are lucky enough, to try it themselves.

Since Latvia pavilion opening at EXPO, approximately 330 000 people have visited it. Many of pavilion’s visitors take the chance to seize the moment of the Technology of Happiness in action, thus gaining experience to share with friends and family. In this way, the word of Latvia is spreading in China and the whole world in a positive way.
